The updated, English edition "Cultural Policy and Cultural Administration in Europe. 42 Outlines" is a guide to the cultural policies and models of cultural administration in 42 European countries from the Northwest to the Southeast, from Iceland to Greece.
In short country profiles, the publication presents the distinct historical roots and different concepts of cultural policies in each country, the structures of the cultural administration, the latest available basic cultural budget figures on the national, regional and local levels, the funding areas as well as the instruments of cultural promotion.
The national cultural policies and models of cultural administration in Europe embrace different traditions, definitions and notions. But at the same time, in many European countries the new demands arising from the cultural changes, which also challenge the traditional understanding of culture and its institutions, lead to the discussion and the development of new approaches and of new models in the cultural administration
